Because sometimes, the best opportunities are outside of your job description, or they happen after 5 PM. In today’s episode, I’m reading my latest Forbes article on what to do instead so that you can take on strategic opportunities and influence others without getting burned out. 

There’s a big misconception about leadership out there. Which is that skills and experience make a great leader. That saying yes to everything will give you the experience you need to rise to leadership.

The problem with this is that leadership is more about influencing other people than being excellent at your job or mastering a particular skill set.
